Controlling text and colours in your web browser

Internet Explorer

To resize text on the screen:

  • Go to the 'View' menu and select one of the options under 'Text Size'.

To permanently apply font and colour changes:

  • Go to the 'View/Tools' menu and select 'Internet Options'.
  • On the 'General' tab, select 'Accessibility',
  • then select the three check boxes to show ticks.

To change the text and background colour:

  • Go to the 'View/Tools' menu and select 'Internet Options'.
  • On the 'General' tab, select 'Colors',
  • then click on the tick box labelled 'Use Windows Colors'.
  • Click 'Text', and select the colour you want to use. Click 'OK'.

Mozilla Firefox

To resize text on the screen:

  • Go to the 'View' menu and select one of the options under 'Text Size' or 'Zoom'.

Opera

To resize text on the screen:

  • Go to the 'File' menu, select 'Preferences' then 'Fonts', then change 'Minimum font size (pixels)'.

Safari

To resize text on the screen:

  • Go to the 'View' menu and select 'Make Text Bigger' or press the Apple (cmd) Key and the plus key (+).
